We are pleased to share an important new chapter in the development of Adgili Platform: in 2026, INTBAU Georgia was established and is hosted by Adgili Platform, bringing Georgia into INTBAU's international network of chapters. intbau.org

INTBAU — the International Network for Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism — is a global network dedicated to creating better places to live through traditional building, architecture and urbanism. Established in 2001, the network now connects more than 10,000 members across over 100 countries and regions, bringing together architects, researchers, craftspeople, educators and others interested in traditional buildings and places. Its work includes educational programmes, workshops, summer schools, study tours, conferences, research and international exchange. intbau.org

For Adgili, joining this network is an important step in our development. Our work is centred on exploring Georgia's architectural heritage, vernacular traditions, local knowledge and relationship between people and place. Through research, documentation, lectures, expeditions, workshops and conversations, we aim to make this knowledge more accessible and create opportunities for exchange between generations and disciplines.

Becoming the host of INTBAU Georgia gives us the opportunity to connect these activities with a wider international community while bringing Georgian architectural knowledge, practices and questions into a broader conversation. INTBAU's chapter network is built around locally relevant programmes, education, information sharing and professional networking, making this a meaningful platform for developing new collaborations in Georgia and beyond. intbau.org

We see this as the beginning of a longer journey. We hope to develop INTBAU Georgia through educational programmes, field research, workshops, lectures, study visits and opportunities for dialogue around Georgia's architectural traditions and contemporary challenges.

For a young platform like Adgili, this is an important opportunity to learn, connect and grow — while contributing to a network that values local knowledge, craftsmanship, cultural identity and the continued evolution of traditional architecture.

We are very excited about what lies ahead and hope this new chapter will lead to meaningful collaborations, new conversations and opportunities to share Georgia's architectural heritage with a wider international audience.
